Jessica Gunter Interview

What three words would you use to describe your role?

Data, Compliance, Permitting

What are you currently working on?

Recently, I have been working on several air permits across the country, as well as the first quarter compliance reporting many of our clients have to submit.  I have a few databases (in Access and SQL Server) that I am maintaining and a few more that I am working on developing.

What do you like most about your job?

I love the variety of projects I am working on – every day is a little bit different.  I get to have a lot of contact with my clients on projects as well, and getting to help people on a daily basis to maintain their compliance and optimize their permits and reporting is extremely fulfilling.

What is something you do for fun or a hobby?

I like to hand quilt – everything from cutting the patterns, and hand piecing it to freehand quilting the whole thing.  Its incredibly rewarding to have a creative outlet that is also a warm and useful final product.

What is your biggest achievement to date – personal and/or professional?

Being a single working parent of two boys is my greatest (and most difficult) achievement, of course, but learning how to write code for our database product, the Shield® has been a very enjoyable challenge.
