Aurora Via began with Aegis as a Project Scientist in October 2023. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation. After graduation, Aurora began working in the environmental field as a Watershed Intern with the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, learning about environmental law and policy. She also worked as a Stream Restoration Assistant with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, traveling to sites of erosion to guide groups and implement stream restoration projects and procedures. Aurora has worked with The Maymont Foundation, educating visitors and conducting classes on Virginia wildlife and vegetation. Since working with Aegis, she has conducted samplings and aided in the development of reports. In addition, Aurora has continued education and certifications in sediment and stormwater erosion inspections and prevention.
